Community Service

Community Service

“I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” (John 13:15)

Philosophy/Purpose
All students are required to fulfill community service hours each year while attending Seton Catholic. The purpose of this requirement is to give the students an opportunity to exercise the values of God, family, and community. Service is a distinguishing part of the Christian life.

Students are required to have hours documented and on file with the Guidance office by the end of each school year. Community service hours are also noted on the student's report card per quarter.

Procedure
Students may obtain Community Service forms from the service advisors, the Guidance office, or download below. Forms must be filled out in its entirety and signed by the appropriate personnel where the hours are being worked.

A log sheet signed by the appropriate personnel at the completion of service may be kept for services which are on going such as serving at church, working at the food pantry on a weekly basis, etc.

Once service hours are completed and the form(s) are filled out in their entirety the forms must be returned to the Community Service Advisor. Forms must be turned in no later than two weeks after service has been completed or by the semester due dates, whichever comes first.
